John Skillen je literárny bádateľ špecializujúci sa na stredovekú a renesančnú literatúru. Jeho práca sa zameriava na kultúrny kontext talianskeho umenia a literatúry, predovšetkým na renesančné rozprávanie v literatúre a vizuálnom umení a na Danteho Božskú komédiu.
