In Dallgow-Döberitz, located on the edge of the Great Havelland Moorlands west of Berlin, significant excavations were conducted following German reunification. Notably, the work at find site 15 from 1994-1997 is distinguished by the discovery of remarkable settlement features spanning all archaeological periods since the pre-Roman Iron Age, including a Slavic tar production site unmatched in Eastern Central Europe. Between 2008 and 2012, a group of students from Humboldt University Berlin analyzed the findings for this publication. Following the foreword and introduction, four papers explore the features and small finds from the settlement during the pre-Roman Iron Age, Roman Imperial period, and Migration Period, as well as pottery, Medieval occupation, and the tar production pits, alongside chemical analyses of tar samples. The settlement features include post buildings, sunken-featured structures, wells, hoards, hearths, fire pits, technical complexes, settlement pits, and a dog burial. The artifacts recovered comprise pottery, metal, bone, antler, and wood.
