Istanbul is a city that embodies ancient, modern, and future elements, shaped by the intense dynamics of religious, political, economic, and social transformations. It symbolizes the major issues of our time like no other metropolis. Maria Sewcz’s photographs provide a compelling analytical interpretation of the ongoing developments, offering a cross-section of space and time that connects Europe, the Balkans, and the Middle and Far East.
