Compiled with the goal of bringing technology and application developers together with representatives from potential user organizations, this proceedings includes contributions of both groups from a dozen countries including Japan and the United States. The presentations cover a broad spectrum ranging from recent hardware developments, through security issues and current applications in areas such as electronic money, public telephones, and medical data, to new public-key techniques.
