The Impact of Economic Reforms on Rural Households in Ethiopia: A Study from 1989 - 1995

Focusing on the economic conditions of six Ethiopian villages between 1989 and 1995, this study examines the connections between economic reform, growth, and poverty changes. It highlights the effects of external shocks on households and emphasizes the importance of social protection in poverty reduction strategies. As part of the Poverty Dynamics in Africa Initiative, this work utilizes enhanced household survey data to deepen the understanding of poverty trends in Africa and inform effective future policies aimed at alleviating poverty.
