The study investigates how coping mechanisms and emotional factors like depression and anxiety impact the quality of life in young adults with asthma. Involving 46 participants diagnosed before age 12, the research reveals that anxiety significantly affects their quality of life. Notably, the interaction between problem-focused coping and anxiety shows that both high and low copers experience poorer quality of life when anxiety levels rise. The findings suggest that anxiety's influence on asthma may be more critical than previously recognized, highlighting the complex relationship between coping strategies and psychosocial factors.
