The study investigates the rising issue of begging in urban Lahore, Pakistan, linking it to social problems like poverty and unemployment. It highlights the spatial patterns of begging, showing that beggars predominantly operate near transport routes and commercial areas. Based on primary data collected through questionnaires, findings reveal that most beggars are illiterate, often married, and live in rented accommodations. The research also notes a higher prevalence of begging among males and indicates that Muslims tend to be more generous towards beggars compared to non-Muslims.
