The annual international conference on Database and Expert Systems Applications (DEXA) has become a key scientific event. This volume presents a collection of papers that showcase the latest advancements in data, information and knowledge management, intelligent systems, and their applications. The 18th DEXA conference took place at the University of Regensburg, Germany, from September 3–7, 2007, featuring several collocated conferences and workshops that addressed specialized topics.
