A comprehensive step-by-step textbook teaching modern Hebrew language and grammar, geared especially to the needs of the English speaking student. Possible difficulties in understanding are anticipated and clarified in advance through careful explanations of Hebrew grammar, sen-tence structure, and modern usage. The readings are taken from a vast range of Hebrew literature―ancient, medieval, and modern―and recast in language that fully illustrates the grammar, idioms, and vocabulary of the particular lesson, in addition to reviewing what was learned in previous lessons.
