Death Valley is the hottest place and the lowest place. Death Valley is the seared landscape, the spring "belly flowers", the tumbled rocks, the snow-capped peaks, and the bluest skies. Death Valley is, most of all, the most magnificent of deserts! Death Valley National Park, in eastern California and western Nevada, was first set aside in 1933 to preserve this unique desert that includes the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere.
