Corfu is the emerald isle of the Ionian with the famous Pontikonisi, which nature has generously bestowed upon it. Alternating dense vegetation, sea that harmoniously embraces the calm bays and golden beaches, while picturesque Venetian villages spring out from the forests of olive trees. Every effort has been made in the few pages of this book to transmit the beautiful nature of the island and, in particular, of its inhabitants, so that it can provide the inspiration for getting to know the island of Nausicaa.
