RE/VERSIONEN engages with contemporary practices in the arts and sciences that prioritize ambiguity and uncertainty over rigid binaries. It explores the concepts of versions and re-versions, reflecting on what is prior, present, and encountered, while addressing powerful structures, images, and narratives that often perpetuate discrimination. The dichotomy of 'foreign' and 'own' serves as a significant construct that defines and obscures its own creation and context. This collection features a diverse array of contributions that go beyond merely referencing 'the Other.' It seeks to open alternative perspectives through various means, whether vigorously provocative or subtly confusing. The volume encompasses a wide range of artistic and scientific knowledge, including poetic and scientific essays, photographs, drawings, poems, song lyrics, dialogues, a sci-fi short story, installations, and practical exercises. The practices highlighted include appropriation, questioning, experiencing, and producing, as well as rewriting and alienating.
