Launching off at the Top of the South, the reader visits the scenic highpoints of Nelson (Abel Tasman National Park), Marlborough (the Sounds), Kaikoura, Punakaiki, the Canterbury Plains, the Southern Alps, Fiordland and Christchurch and Dunedin cities, among a number of other spectacular locations. The latter half of the book tours the more populated North Island from Cape Reinga south to Wellington, taking in a variety of rural, coastal and urban scenes.
