Having placed an advertisement to hire a librarian, the Duke of Milverton is rather taken aback when a certain Mrs. Gerda König arrives at the castle. However, the competence of this middle-aged woman is beyond doubt, and with her gray hair and severe glasses, she presents a most serious appearance. So why not? As the days go by, the Duke discovers his employee's impressive culture. So much so that he increasingly enjoys her company and comes to invite her to his table. Mrs. König has a personality and confidence that intrigue and stimulate him. He certainly has reason to be pleased with his choice.
