Fielding (University of California-Los Angeles) presents recent work in epidemiology and biostatistics, environmental and occupational health, public health practice, social environment and behavior, and health services. Some specific topics discussed include public health surveillance of low-frequency populations, legal and social implications of genetic testing in the workplace, time-series studies of particulate matter, and modeling infection transmission. Other subjects are the current state of public health in China, lessons learned from public health mass media campaigns, international differences in drug prices, and the relationship between physician gender and patient-centered communication.
