Reviews agro-food policies in the Czech Republic between 1986 and 1994. Together with extensive background data, it contains detailed calculations of the levels of assistance granted for the main agricultural commodities measured by producer and consumer subsidy equivalents. Focusing particularly on the transition to a market economy, the study examines the process of privatization and restructuring of the agriculture and food sectors, emerging agricultural trading arrangements, and policies to assist the agro-food sector in the Czech Republic.
