The closure of the convent at St Gudrun triggers a crisis in the village of Redston, where a valuable Monstrance crafted by 18th-century goldsmith Teodoro Borzoletti is at stake. As the Catholic Church attempts to liquidate its assets, tensions rise over the true ownership of the Monstrance, exacerbated by an age-old family feud involving Austin Reeves-Mercer, a Protestant trying to maintain his ancestral home.
