This is the travel journal of an artist. Marlene McLoughlin travels through the towns on the road from Florence to Rome, sketching and painting along the way. Her detailed watercolours illustrate the architecture, landscape and food of the land. Her trip takes her through the ancient, beautiful towns and cities of Italy: Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Montepulciano, Volterra, Cortona, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Todi, Spoleto, Gubbio and finally Rome. Her tour provides over 400 watercolours. Each picture is captioned by a description.
