Over 400 drawings depict all aspects of the subject, from the brickwork in the walls of ancient Rome to the vaulted roof of Westminster Abbey. As well as extended entries covering entire aspects of construction, Parker also included short definitions of less commonly used architectural terms, a history of the development of particular features, & entries concerning ornamentation & furniture of specific periods.
