In America a small group of thinkers, known as 'neoconservatives' stands accused of hijacking the nation's foreign policy, converting it from a multilateralist nation that relies on persuasion into a unilateralist country relying exclusively on military power to achieve its aim of installing pro-American, democratic regimes in the Middle East and, eventually, in Africa and other unstable regions of the world.
