In a gripping narrative set during the Troubles in Northern Ireland, a British Army bomb-disposal expert goes undercover to uncover the source of bombs used by the Provisional IRA. In Belfast, 1973, the conflict intensifies between two men: Marcus Richardson, a dedicated British Army officer, and Davy MacCutcheon, a skilled IRA bomb-maker. Both are steadfast in their beliefs until a series of events forces them to confront their convictions and seek a way out with their honour intact. After surviving a deadly car bomb, Marcus is offered a transfer to the elite SAS, contingent upon his acceptance of an undercover mission to infiltrate the IRA and identify its leaders and bomb-makers. Meanwhile, Davy grapples with the moral implications of his work as his devices are increasingly used against civilians. His plea to leave the organization is met with a demand for one final mission, which he believes will lead to redemption and a future with his love, Fiona Kavanagh. As their paths intersect, Davy sees an opportunity to leverage Marcus's expertise in explosives. A chain of events culminates in a plot to assassinate the British prime minister, leaving Marcus to navigate a treacherous situation where he must thwart the plan and ensure his survival.
