Amidst the 68 movement, sisters Lilly and Franzi Vordemfelde embark on an adventurous future. They couldn't be more different: Lilly works in entertainment television, where she loves the glitz and glamour. Franzi is politically engaged. The brutal actions of the police against student protests and the murder of Benno Ohnesorg deeply shake her and motivate her to change the world through the modern medium of television. However, like their older sister Eva, they are hindered by the constraints of their time—and not least by their father, who disapproves of such activities. Once again, the women of the Vordemfelde family must fight for freedom, for their happiness—and for the people they love.
