When Austrian Josef Frank (1885-1967) began his collaboration with Estrid Ericson and Swedish Pewter 1934, he was already established as one of today's leading architects and furniture designers. He started the store 'Haus & Garten' in Vienna and designed residential complexes and villas including the interiors. Josef Frank was both appreciated and viewed as a committed modernist who did not follow the rule book.
