In August 1999, after lengthy discussions followed by digging, building, planting and paving, Museumplein was finally reopened. The Amsterdam photographer Siebe Swart recorded the excavation and construction activities from various vantage points. The metamorphosis of Museumplein is documented in more than twenty large format and panorama photos.
