"Mekong" is a novel that intertwines the stories of the search for American soldiers missing in the Vietnam War, the treasure hunt for the ancient king of the Lao kingdom, the history of the civilizations of the Mekong River communities, and the tales of the Phu Ri tribe, which are shrouded in mysterious legends not found on any map. It also explores the construction of a bridge across the Mekong River to connect Thailand and Laos economically and culturally, as well as the drug trade. These narratives are woven together by the Naga, the legendary serpent of the Mekong River communities, which protects the treasures of the land and brings about terrifying mysterious deaths to various individuals. "Mekong" thus presents a blend of social reality and imagination, creating a rich literary experience.
