A dramatic comedy by Jane Bowles (her sole play), which is both surreal and operatic. The Broadway preem in the 1953-54 season costarred Judith Anderson & Mildred Dunnock as dominating mothers manipulating their daughters. Though it only ran 2 months, its experimental style won praise from many critics who named it among the year's 10 Best.
