Viac o knihe

Over the past two decades, researchers and clinicians in the neurosciences have experienced an explosion of information in brain imaging and neuropsychological functioning. Previously, viewing the nervous system required invasive procedures, but now various imaging techniques are available. However, the rapid advancement of this technology has made it challenging to consolidate new information into a single source. This volume aims to present advancements alongside current standards and techniques in brain imaging and neuropsychology. The quality of imaging has improved significantly; for instance, in 1975, brain images provided only basic distinctions among ventricular cavities, brain, and bone tissue. Today’s techniques allow for precise differentiation between brain nuclei, pathways, and white-gray matter. The swift progress in technology has outpaced basic and clinical research, leading to situations where the methodology of ongoing studies becomes outdated. This challenge has hindered systematic research and highlighted the need for a comprehensive textbook to address contemporary issues in brain imaging and neuropsychology.
