Light, Wind, and Structure is one of the first books in the New Liberal Arts Series, which is being co-published by McGraw-Hill and MIT Press. The series was initiated by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation's new Liberal Arts Program which is based on the belief that liberal arts students need to acquire an understanding of quantitative reasoning and modern technologies in order to understand the world in which we live.
