What if technologies were designed with ecological value instead of just shareholder profit? What if they considered the full spectrum of users and their impacts? Imagine technologies that regenerate our lives and the lives of other creatures. In a time when rapid technological evolution often lacks moral checks, we see this as a problem that needs addressing. This prompts a crucial question: if we had the power to do anything, should we? Is it "right" to do so? As tech users and citizens, QCollective seeks to explore these moral dilemmas, acknowledging the complexities and contradictions of life. We have many questions and few answers, but moral inquiries necessitate dialogue. To facilitate this, we present 5 Values and 10 Questions to anchor our discussions. Contributions from Marc Roman Franke and Patrick Laske at Boston Consulting Group provide insights from global surveys on responsible AI. This work serves as a call to action, encouraging a return to discussions about which values to pursue, measure, and incentivize, alongside the broader moral, ethical, and responsible actions in business, technology, and civic life. Ultimately, QCollective aims to ignite meaningful conversations that matter.
