This "invisible college" has since expanded into a larger, multi-national volunteer research effort. However, the questions raised four decades ago remain unanswered. Jacques Vallee posits that a powerful force has influenced humanity, questioning whether it stems from alien intervention or human consciousness. Dr. Vallee's work stands apart from other UFO literature, as he challenges widely accepted beliefs and presents data that defies conventional theories. He offers his own hypothesis, making it a unique contribution to the field. Notably, he emphasizes the connection between UFOs and psychic events, highlighting the importance of myth, tradition, and belief systems in understanding these phenomena. Dr. Jacques Vallee began his career as an astronomer at the Paris Observatory in 1961. His interest in UFOs was sparked by witnessing the destruction of tracking tapes of unknown objects while working for the French Space Committee. After moving to the U.S. and earning a Ph.D. in computer science, he collaborated with J. Allen Hynek on Project Blue Book, leading to the creation of this work. Vallee is now a venture capitalist based in San Francisco.
