In a rebellion deep within the Ghoul Stars, Nemesor Zahndrekh and his loyal bodyguard, Vargard Obyron, face a dire threat. With uneasy allies and the weight of the past pressing upon them, the ancient Necrons must solve a mystery that could lead to their downfall. This novella offers a glimpse into the personalities of key Necron characters and explores the (un)life of these ancient warriors, reawakened in a galaxy that has changed dramatically. Zahndrekh, renowned for his military strategy, is a near peerless tactician whose skills have secured numerous victories for the Necrons of the Sautekh Dynasty. His steadfast companion, Obyron, serves as both protector and confidant. However, when Zahndrekh's troubled past resurfaces, their bond and his already fragile sanity are put to the ultimate test. Tasked by the formidable Stormlord, Phaeron of the Sautekh, they must confront a rebellion on the planet Doahht. There, they must collaborate with an old acquaintance, Nemesor Setekh, whose true intentions remain uncertain. Together, they navigate a world filled with both horror and hope, uncovering dark secrets that lie beneath the surface. Written by Nate Crowley.
