His work as a Machinist and Marine Engineer included time in the Coast Guard until an injury ended his career. Writing, a long-held passion, has now become his profession. Despite leaving formal education at 15, he is well-read, well-traveled, and a fluent Gaelic speaker, also showcasing his musical talents on various stages.
