New patients, new colleagues, and an altogether different challenge will help, she hopes to put her failed marriage behind her.But before long, changes are threatening her newly-found peace of mind. A proposed quarry at Black Gill threatens to destroy the landscape she is growing to love. Laura is determined to do something to prevent the destruction, and enlists the help of her ex-husband, Tom - a decision she may regret, when it becomes clear he is anxious to use this as an excuse to rekindle their relationship.
