Focusing on the analysis of contemporary Chinese political discourse, this book employs a corpus-based approach to examine how stances toward China and other nations vary in English translations. Utilizing a framework that combines Appraisal theory and the Ideological Square, it presents research findings through comparisons and statistical analyses of appraisal epithets. The study explores the lexico-grammatical and discourse semantic levels of these translations, making it a significant resource for translation studies and discourse analysis.
