Prečítajte si obľúbenú časť úspešnej série Kroniky Narnie: Lev, šatník a čarodejnica v novom ilustrovanom vydaní.

Journeys to the end of the world, fantastic creatures, and epic battles between good and evil -- what more could any reader ask for in one book? The book that has it all is The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, written in 1949 by Clive Staples Lewis. But Lewis did not stop there. Six more books followed, and together they became known as The Chronicles of Narnia. For the past fifty years, The Chronicles of Narnia have transcended the fantasy genre to become part of the canon of classic literature. Each of the seven books is a masterpiece, drawing the reader into a land where magic meets reality, and the result is a fictional world whose scope has fascinated generations. This edition presents all seven books -- unabridged -- in one impressive volume. The books are presented here according to Lewis' preferred order, each chapter graced with an illustration by the original artist, Pauline Baynes. Deceptively simple and direct, The Chronicles of Narnia continue to captivate fans with adventures, characters, and truths that speak to readers of all ages, even fifty years after they were first published.

V poslednom príbehu Kroník Narnie sa spolu s našimi hrdinami dostaneme do zázračného sveta v časoch, keď v Narnii panuje kráľ Tirián, prapotomok Riliána a posledný z Kaspiánovho rodu. Jeho vlasť napadnú hordy Kalormenčanov z juhu, podporované nepriateľmi usídlenými priamo v Narnii. Schyľuje sa k poslednej bitke medzi dobrom a zlom, civilizáciou a barbarstvom...

Prinúti ich zobrať ju do Londýna...

Spoločne musia nájsť a zachrániť začarovaného Riliána, syna starého kráľa Kaspiána Desiateho, ktorý by mu rád pred smrťou odovzdal trón, no zlá mágia podsvetia mu v tom bráni.

Four English school children find their way through the back of a wardrobe into the magic land of Narnia and assist Aslan, the golden lion, to triumph over the White Witch who has cursed the land with eternal winter.

All seven books in the Chronicles of Narnia are now available together in a hardcover volume which includes an essay by C.S. Lewis, On Three Ways of Writing for Children, where he explains precisely how the magic of Narnia first came to life.

Bilbo’s Last Song is considered by many to be Tolkien’s epilogue to his classic work The Lord of the Rings. As Bilbo Baggins takes his final voyage to the Undying Lands, he must say goodbye to Middle-earth. Poignant and lyrical, the song is both a longing to set forth on his ultimate journey and a tender farewell to friends left behind.Pauline Baynes’s jewel-like illustrations lushly depict both this final voyage and scenes from The Hobbit, as Bilbo remembers his first journey while he prepares for his last.

From the seed of a silver apple came the wardrobe. Through the wardrobe came four children. To these children came a special magic. With that magic came seven unforgettable stories.

This is an exploration of the life of C.S.Lewis and his writing of the Narnia books. It looks in detail at the geography and creatures of Narnia and the theme behind the stories, and the illustrations provided for this book by the Narnia illustrator, Pauline Baynes, are accompanied by the original map and frontispieces.

Touching the magic rings takes the children into a wood where mysterious pools lead to countless other worlds. This is the doorway to Narnia - a magical land of talking animals and walking trees. This treasury of memorable verses, collected by two of the foremost authorities on children's lore, contains favorite nursery rhymes found in folk literature as well as less familiar rhymes passed down in regional or family traditions. Annotated and indexed both by subject and by first lines, and illustrated with classic black-and-white line drawings, this book is both a useful resource and a delight for children everywhere.

This is the 50th anniversary edition of Tolkien's best-loved short fairy story, originally told to his children in the 1920s and expanded for publication in 1949. Bluff Farmer Giles lives in a land-of-fable England, full of giants and dragons. A reluctant hero like the Brave Little Tailor or Bilbo in The Hobbit , Giles wins a great reputation by firing his blunderbuss at a wandering giant--who retreats not in fear but to avoid this tiresome stinging "insect". One thing leads to another, and despite all his excuses the now famous Giles is called to save his country from the marauding dragon Chrysophylax. He has a legendary anti-dragon sword and a lot of luck, but dragons can be as devious as politicians... Tolkien crammed much sly wit into his little story, plus jokey philological explanations that Giles's amazing adventures are commemorated in Thames Valley placenames like Worminghall and Thame. It's illustrated with nearly 50 line drawings by Paula Baynes: Tolkien loved these, but some look sadly faded here, like fourth-generation photocopies. As a bonus, the anniversary edition includes an introduction telling the story's history, a transcription of the original, unfinished draft, and 23 pages of notes on allusions and names (Chrysophylax means "keeper of gold", which is indeed what dragons do). A pleasant gift book. -- David Langford
