Autor ve svém milostném románu využil možnosti, které mu poskytoval manželský čtyřúhelník postav dvou nerovných světů. V románu najdeme všechny znaky autorova prozaického umění – talent, fabulací, lehkost stylu a hlavně schopnost vnést do příběhu napětí.
