This volume presents the revised and peer reviewed contributions of the ‘ERP Future 2013’ conference held in Vienna/Austria on November 12-13th, 2013. The ERP Future 2013 Research conference is a scientific platform for research on enterprise information systems in general and specifically on core topics like business process management (BPM), business intelligence (BI) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Besides the scientific community the event also addresses businesses developing, implementing and intensively using enterprise information systems. To master the challenges of enterprise information systems comprehensively, the ERP Future 2013 Research conference accepted contributions with a business as well as an IT focus to consider enterprise information systems from various viewpoints. This combination of business and IT aspects is a unique characteristic of the conference that resulted in several valuable contributions with high theoretical as well as practical impact.

The conference is a platform for research in ERP systems and closely related topics like business processes, business intelligence, and enterprise information systems in general. To master the challenges of ERP comprehensively, the ERP Future 2012 Research conference accepted contributions both with a business focus as well as with an IT focus to consider enterprise resource planning from various viewpoints. This combination of business and IT aspects is a unique characteristic of the conference and of this volume that resulted in valuable contributions with high practical impact.

In 2019, the 5th edition of the AAL practice forum SMARTER LIVES was realized. The event addresses the challenges of demographic change within the health- and social care sector, as well as inside of the society. SMARTER LIVES discusses and presents opportunities innovative, technological solutions in context of an ageing society. The proceedings at hand present the scientific contributions, which were handed in, reviewed and discussed in the course of the SMARTER LIVES practice forum 2019.

Die SMARTER LIVES wurde 2015 zum ersten Mal veranstaltet und ist eine Veranstaltung, die sich auf die Herausforderungen des demografischen Wandels im Gesundheits- und Sozialwesen sowie innerhalb der Gesellschaft richtet. 2016 wurde das Praxisforum um eine Forschungskonferenz erweitert. Diese Ausgabe beinhaltet gesammelt die eingereichten Beiträge, welche auf der Forschungskonferenz präsentiert wurden.
