Z tym niezdarnym starym człowiekiem żywo kontrastuje postać ojca jaką syn pamięta z dzieciństwa: domowy Stalin - jak go nazywa. Obserwacje świątecznego posiłku przeplatają się z wspomnieniami i rozpamiętywaniem dziecięcych żali i pretensji do ojca.
