Všetko však nasvedčuje tomu, že práve nešikovnému Bastiánovi, ktorý je v triede terčom posmechu, sa podarí odvrátiť zánik Fantázie a zachrániť jej podivuhodných obyvateľov.Nekonečný príbeh, ktorý prvýkrát vyšiel v Nemecku roku 1979, preložili do viac ako 35 jazykov a predalo sa vyše osem miliónov výtlačkov.Na motívy skvelej Endeho knihy nakrútil režisér Wolfgang Petersen roku 1984 rovnomenný film. Obľúbili si ho už celé generácie detí aj rodičov a dodnes rovnako uchvacuje malých aj veľkých divákov.
