Pri preorávaní role zvanej spomienky nájdeme občas v čerstvej brázde aj malé čriepky, staré mince, stopy minulosti. Po dôkladnom očistení mincí zalepených hlinou, naraz zbadáme, že mince majú nielen historickú, ale aj skutočnú cenu, pretože sú razené vo vzácnom kove.

Rozhodol som sa zoradiť tento materiál do časového sledu. Začal som od stvorenia sveta, teda od Adama a Evy. Nasledovala doba pred Kristovým narodením, potom doba kresťanských sviatkov a zvykov a tak som pokračoval v zostavovaní významných osobností, udalostí a výročí približne v takom poradí, ako boli vydané v emisiách pôšt rôznych štátov až po dnešné časy. Tento spis nie je monotematický, i keď jeho základom je filatelistická zbierka, pretože sú v ňom spomínané rôzne vyššie uvedené udalosti, k tomu živá i mŕtva príroda a mnohé iné zaujímavosti vydané poštami mnohých krajín.
