Benediktín David Steindl Rast (*12. júl 1926, Viedeň), vo svete známy ako Brother David, si získal medzinárodné uznanie za aktívne rozvíjanie dialógu medzi náboženstvami a vzťahu medzi vedou a vierou. Brat David stál pri zakladaní medzinárodnej siete www.gratefulness.org, ktorá spája milióny ľudí z celého sveta zaujímajúcich sa o vďačnosť ako o silu, ktorá dokáže premieňať životy jednotlivcov i spoločnosti. V roku 2018 vyšiel slovenský preklad jeho knihy Vďačnosť, srdce modlitby, ktorá oslovila množstvo slovenských čitateľov a aj na ich popud vychádza kniha Hlbšie než slová, v ktorej autor rozoberá jednotlivé články najstaršieho kresťanského vyznania viery z pohľadu viery univerzálnej.
