Naḥûm Tim Gidāl Knihy

“And now this book, on which he has worked over a period of thirty years. His vision was to show the Germans in illustrations - 974 of them - who the Jews who lived in Germany actually were and what role they played from the earliest times, through the Middle Ages, and into the modern age. The book takes us through the centuries and the turbulent history of these people, who usually had to endure a life of anguish and persecution, and yet who, as Gidal writes, experienced the zenith of their history - in the opinion of many Jews - in that same Germany during the Weimar era.” Marion Gräfin Dönhoff
