Kniha 2000 let Těla Kristova, Historie Církve pro začátečníky, je velmi čtivý pohled na historii křesťanské Církve od Letnic až po současnost a obsahuje silné poselství, aktuální pro naši dobu. O událostech, které se odehrály od novozákonní doby do dneška, ví mnoho křesťanů velice málo, nebo dokonce vůbec nic. Proto si neuvědomují, jak silně je ovlivňují tradice, které si lidé během staletí vytvořili. Studium těchto událostí nám může přinést poučení a povzbuzení. Poučení, protože „ti, kteří si nepamatují minulost, jsou odsouzeni k tomu, aby ji prožili znovu“. Většina omylů a chyb, kterých se dopouštíme, se už někdy v minulosti stala. Abychom se jim vyhnuli, můžeme se učit od svých předků. A povzbuzení, protože naše dědictví je tak bohaté, že by bylo pošetilé je ignorovat. Můžeme se inspirovat příkladem duchovních velikánů, kteří nás předcházeli, a koneckonců se zároveň i těšit, až se s nimi osobně setkáme ve slávě.

Náš postoj k budoucnosti je ambivalentní směsicí strachu a fascinace. Chceme vědět, co se stane s námi a se zbytkem lidské rasy – ale možná že to doopravdy nechceme vědět! Kolik z nás by si opravdu přálo dozvědět se datum své smrti nebo konce světa? Jsme první generací, která skutečně žije s možností, že se tato dvě data mohou shodovat. V jednom průzkumu polovina dotázaných teenagerů věřila, že jejich smrt a smrt planety nastane současně. Ať už prostřednictvím jaderného holocaustu (z čehož je stále menší obava) nebo ekologické katastrofy (rostoucí strach), zdá se, že dny života na Zemi jsou sečteny...v této knize David Pawson učí, co Bible říká o Druhém příchodu Krista.

Sionismus je poměrně nedávné slovo, které bylo vytvořeno k popisu návratu Židů do země jejich předků a znovuzaložení národního státu Izrael s Jeruzalémem (Sionem) jako jejich hlavním městem. Sionista je ten, kdo se toho účastní nebo podporuje ty, kteří se toho účastní. Existují židovští sionisté a křesťanští sionisté. Existují také židovští antisionisté a křesťanští antisionisté. Tato kniha je napsána s ohledem na poslední zmíněnou skupinu. David Pawson věří, že křesťané potřebují velmi jasné biblické porozumění, než učiní politická prohlášení o konfliktu na Blízkém východě.

O tématu této knihy však toho řekl poměrně hodně, ale buď se zdráhají brát jeho učení za bernou minci, nebo se snaží jeho "výjimku" rozšiřovat, dokud se nestane pravidlem. Tato kniha je určena především těm, pro které je Bible konečnou autoritou ve všech otázkách víry a chování, zejména těm, kteří kážou, učí a radí druhým. Autor je přesvědčen, že církev by měla svět vést spíše do kopce, než ho následovat z kopce.

Většinový evangelikální názor je, že jakmile někdo přijme Krista jako Spasitele, má zaručené spasení. Je však bezpečné předpokládat, že jakmile jsme jednou spaseni, jsme spaseni navždy?
