Focusing on the coinage of the Kushan kings and their successors, this work provides critical insights into the historical context of ancient Afghanistan, Pakistan, northern India, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan from the 1st to the 5th centuries AD. The study highlights how these coins serve as vital artifacts that illuminate the political, economic, and cultural dynamics of the region during this transformative period.

Playing With Money will be published to accompany an exhibition at the British Museum, which opens in April 2019, drawing on the Museum's collection of games and game money.
