Gösta Knutsson bol švédsky rozhlasový producent a spisovateľ, ktorého dielo je preslávené predovšetkým vďaka sérii kníh pre deti o kocúrikovi s prezývkou Pelle Svanslös. Tento dobrosrdečný, no naivný kocúrik, ktorému kedysi odhryzlo chvostík potkan, sa stal obľúbenou postavou detskej literatúry. Knutsson často zasadzoval svoje príbehy do malebného prostredia univerzitného mesta Uppsala, ktoré oživoval radom antropomorfných mačacích postáv. Kocúrik Pelle predstavuje jeho vlastné alter ego a ostatné postavy sú inšpirované ľuďmi z jeho okolia, čo dodáva dielu osobitý šarm a humor.

Gösta Knutsson (1908-1973) - szwedzki radiowiec i pisarz, autor książek dla dzieci. W 1936 roku został dyrektorem progra-mowym Szwedzkiego Radia w Uppsali, gdzie pracował do 1969 roku. W 1937 roku przygotował audycję o kotku Pellem (w Polsce znanym jako Filonek). Dwa lata później przygody kotka bez ogonka ukazały się drukiem i z czasem weszły do ogólnoświatowego kanonu książek dla dzieci. Knutsson jest także twórcą postaci niedźwiadka Nallego (w Polsce jego przygody opublikowało Wydawnictwo `Nasza Księgarnia` w latach 60. XX wieku w tłumaczeniu Teresy Chłapowskiej).
