Ils vont essayer de se faire juger par le juge de la région, mais ce juge ne condamne personne. Il y a seulement des condamnés venant de l`extérieur qui sont admis dans cette prison. Ils vont entrer dans la prison en creusant un tunnel. Pendant ce temps, Lucky Luke surveille les Dalton à distance. Luke se demande aussi pourquoi le juge de la région ne condamne personne. En entrant lui aussi dans la prison, il découvrira un saloon pour les prisionniers qui sont à l`intérieur. Luke se fera prendre mais la cavalerie arrive et va démenteler le tout. Le juge et les Dalton iront dans une vraie prison.

"Arizona 1880" von Morris, veröffentlicht 1946, markiert den Beginn des berühmtesten Cowboy-Helden, Lucky Luke. Zum 75. Geburtstag des Helden erscheint das Jubiläumsalbum Nr. 100, das die ersten beiden Lucky-Luke-Geschichten enthält, die bisher nicht in der regulären Reihe veröffentlicht wurden.

Le célèbre Buffalo Bill cherche à convaincre Lucky Luke, l'homme qui tire plus vite que son ombre, de rejoindre son célèbre spectacle. Devant le refus de notre héros, Buffalo Bill va faire des Dalton le clou de son spectacle. Il embauche un quatuor de bellâtres pour jouer leur rôle et invente la légende des 4 bandits au grand coeur. Les vrais Dalton voyant à leur grand étonnement qu'ils sont devenus des stars vont donc s'échapper et lancer leur spectacle à leur propre gloire car on est jamais mieux servi que par soi-même. Mais les Dalton vont-ils supporter le harcèlement des fans et des journalistes, vont-ils résister à la pression médiatique ?

Le minuscule mais néanmoins belliqueux général Custer vise la présidence des Etats-Unis. Afin d'accomplir son rêve, il lui faudrait une glorieuse victoire sur les Indiens ! Mais les Sioux de la région préfèrent de loin cultiver d'authentiques légumes, plutôt que de déterrer la hache de guerre... Custer tente alors par tous les moyens de déclencher un conflit. Mais, heureusement, Lucky Luke veille...
