Nečakal som však, že po tom, ako som si v prvom diele s tým všetkýmhrdinsky poradil, sa bezhlavo vrhnem do akcie na nepriateľskom území: v Alexandrijskej knižnici, kde sa - spolu s dedom a našou mrzutou strážkyňou Bastilou, jej ešte mrzutejšou matkou a sesternicou s prazvláštnym nadaním - postavíme proti kurátorom (duchom, ktorí vám s potešením požičajú knihu, ak vám nevadí, že za ňu zaplatíte svojou dušou) a niekoľkým novým otravným knihovníkom, ktorí nás neznášajú už len za to, že dýchame... a s radosťou nás znesú zo sveta. Nič z toho sa však nevyrovná tej hrôze, ktorú prežijeme, ak sa nám podarí nájsť... MÔJHO OTCA! (Tu si predstavte dramatickú hudbu...)

Postapokalyptické sci-fi. Pred desiatimi rokmi nastala Katastrofa, ktorá nezvratne zmenila našu planétu. Niektorým ľuďom totiž dala nadprirodzené schopnosti a vydesená spoločnosť ich nazvala Epici. Epici však nie sú dobrí superhrdinovia. Nie, sú to geniálni zloduchovia bez kúska súcitu. Nikto sa im neodvažuje postaviť na odpor. Nikto okrem Pomstiteľov záhadnej, krutej a nepolapiteľnej špeciálnej jednotky, ktorá pátra po ich slabostiach, aby ich mohla zabiť. David chce medzi nich. Chce dostať Metalurga, Epika, ktorý je vraj neporaziteľný. Epika, ktorý mu zabil otca. Posledných desať rokov bol ako Pomstitelia, pozoroval a študoval Epikov, plánoval. No David vie niečo, o čom nikto netuší: Videl Metalurga krvácať. Teraz nastal čas na pomstu.

A už vôbec nie je moja chyba, ak knihovníci prišli na to, že som tam, a zaútočili všetkými prostriedkami vrátane obrovských robotov a desivých zbraní, ktoré omračovali ľudí a zanechávali za sebou jamy v zemi, a unášali občanov a potom sa tam zjavila moja knihovnícka matka a ako obvykle všetko zničila, zatiaľ čo otec bol príliš zaneprázdnený, aby si to vôbec všimol, hoci to on sa chystal rozpútať na zemi chaos, a moje nadanie kaziť veci sa úplne vymklo spod kontroly a ja som netušil, čo mám robiť!!! (UUF) Takže... ak naozaj chcete čítať ďalej a dozvedieť sa, čo ešte nebola - opakujem, NEBOLA - moja chyba, len smelo do toho. Potom mi však nevyhadzujte na oči, ak nebudete môcť prestať. Alcatraz a dedo Smedry doputovali do Nalhally, jedného zo Slobodných kráľovstiev a domoviny smedryovskej rodiny, kde Alcatraza čakal šok - zistenie, že je tu vlastne legendou.
