James Leasor bol britský autor známy svojimi historickými knihami a thrillery, ktoré často skúmali menej známe udalosti a tajomstvá. Jeho rozprávačský štýl sa vyznačoval pútavým rytmom a schopnosťou preniesť čitateľa do napínavých situácií. Leasor sa dokázal ponoriť do detailov historických udalostí a zároveň udržať napätie typické pre žáner trileru. Niektoré z jeho diel boli adaptované do filmovej podoby, čo svedčí o ich silnom naratívnom potenciáli.
Franz von Werra, pilot Luftwaffe, byl sestřelen v bitvě o Británii. Dvakrát uprchl z britských zajateckých táborů a nakonec byl deportován do Kanady. 'Code Name Nimrod' is the story of one man’s involvement in one of World War II’s greatest deceptions. He was a member of a secret organization formed by Earl Mountbatten called “X-troop”. They must also understand German psychology, so he suggested to Mr. Churchill that he should form a Troop of anti-Nazi German, Hungarian and Austrian volunteers. Through a thousand deceptive actions and messages Hitler is made to believe that the Allied assault will happen at the Pas de Calais and not at Normandy.
