Réunies pour la première fois en un seul volume, les poésies de Grisélidis Real, écrites de l'âge de treize ans jusqu'à sa mort, révèlent une œuvre d'une cohérence et d'une force rares, à l'image de sa vie hors du commun. Son existence est également jalonnée de séjours en sanatorium, en prison et à l'hôpital, expériences qui nourrissent sa création poétique. Bien que quelques poèmes aient été publiés dans le passé, cette œuvre poétique pourrait être sa contribution fondamentale. Du symbolisme de ses débuts aux récits poignants sur la prostitution et la lutte contre le cancer, ses poèmes racontent une vie avec une profondeur unique, abordant des thèmes tels que l'amour, le sexe, la maladie et la maternité, révélant ainsi une beauté singulière.
