Tretí diel úspešnej série Odkaz Dračích jazdcov pokračuje v putovaní Eragona a Zafiry. Po mesiacoch špekulácií o názve a obálke sa ukázalo, že kniha sa volá Brisingr, čo pre autora predstavovalo správny výber. Toto slovo, ktoré Eragon prvýkrát vyslovil v starodávnom jazyku, znamená oheň a má v príbehu dôležitú úlohu. Obálka je tmavohnedá až čierna s drakom a zlatým nápisom. Pôvodne mal Brisingr uzavrieť trilógiu, no autor sa rozhodol pridať štvrtú časť, aby mohol dôstojne uzavrieť príbeh o záchrane kráľovstva. O poslednej knihe zatiaľ nie sú žiadne podrobnosti. Brisingr vychádza 20. septembra 2008 v americkom vydavateľstve Random House s nákladom 2,5 milióna výtlačkov. Predchádzajúce diely, Eragon a Eldest, sa stali bestsellerami, pričom celosvetovo sa predalo 12,5 milióna kusov. Slovenské vydanie je naplánované na 11. novembra 2008, avšak závisí od dodania rukopisu od Random House. Preklad tak rozsiahlej knihy, ktorá bude pravdepodobne podobne hrubá ako Eldest, si vyžaduje čas. Redaktorka Lenka Macková z Vydavateľstva Fragment vyjadruje nádej, že rukopis dostanú čo najskôr, aby mohli začať s prekladom a potešiť slovenských fanúšikov.
